Matt Heart, a US Marine is dealing with PTSD after four tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, in other parts of the country, a war-weary Navy Corpsman only consumed with those he could not save is minutes from taking his life when fate intervenes. A young woman in Florida is dealing with depression after losing her mom in Iraq and now fights for her reputation including her life against three rapists. The university ignored her pleas and the media blamed her. With the power out her struggles change drastically. In other parts of the US, other men and women will do things that would have been uncharacteristic just days before. Paths will cross. Chance and fate will play a role. Circumstance will evolve. Do you go left or do you go right? What does life have in store for you? In Book One you will be introduced to just some of the characters that will play a role as Apocalyptic Highway progresses down the road of chance, circumstance, and fate.
My intent is that when you read this book you cry, laugh, smile, stand and cheer, clap, question, and most of all it leaves you wanting more.

I liked the story and the characters, and and even cried in one place, which is saying a lot for this tough old broad. I don't cry. But Thomas knows how to write in a way that tugs at the ole heartstrings. I recently finished a book by a different author and was two-thirds through before starting to care about the characters. It was a good story but I didn't become invested in the characters for a very long time. I found myself really caring what happened to the characters in this book early on. They were rich and robust with detailed back stories. Good job Mr. Thomas.Product details

The author brought the characters to life. He was able to move the story along without flat spots. Engage the reader so that you felt their pan. I did not want to put it down.
The author has clearly lived and walked in the clothes of a vet. He captures the ups, downs, doubts and revelations of those who have looked death in the eye and lost close friends in battle.

This book has a very deep feel. It pretty much covers every aspect of emotion. After every thing goes Pear Shape. Staying Alive would not be easy. The Author has covered this in a very realistic way. Terror, Love; Life and Death and everything in between. Well worth Reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the characters. For those of you who are OCD about punctuation and misspelled words. Yes, you will find a few errors throughout the book. But who cares? If you're looking for a good book to read, this is it. For a first book it was well written with an obvious plot and objective. With some twists and unexpected turns along the way. Thank you for bringing the subject of PTSD to light in your characters and what so many of our young and old veterans experience. From one Vet to another, Great job Morgan and keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next installment in this series or any other books you may write.
I have read a lot of books and this is the first one I actually cried reading. Coming face to face with the mother of one of your best friends to release long held feelings about how he felt responsible for his death. Multiple people coming together to survive and support. One of the best books of this type I have read.
What a book! I have family members that are servicemen, however this is not why I read this book. This book was recommended to me as a tool to aid in learning how to deal with the everyday struggles of life, while not forgetting the bigger picture, such as why are we even here? This book contains many stories, some of which are very graphic in nature and portray a world that very few people have truly experienced. With that said, each story contains a character, or multiple, that you can truly get behind and find yourself rooting for them more and more as the pages turn. I have never seen a movie that could bring such laughter, tears, anger, sadness, and happiness; definitely a must read! Also, I hear that 10% of all book revenues will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project!
