This is the perfect series to read after MR. DARK. It has the same great characters, but Tabby and Patrick take the lead. As the story starts, Tabby is still leery of most men. It takes her awhile to trust Patrick, but once she does, she's over the moon and so is he. The only drawback is that he's hiding a secret, a big one. Just like Mark fights crime as the Snowman, Patrick wears a mask, too, and strikes out against the same villains. The problem with that is Patrick isn't as trained or as skilled as Mark, and he's taking too many chances with his life. Disguised as the Snowman, Mark has been following this new unknown hero, helping when he can, and trying to get him to quit until he's better trained. When he's finally severely injured during one of his dumb attacks, Mark loads him onto the super electric MC, and heads for Sophie to get her help to save his life. And as Sophie and Tabby stand by to help, he cuts the costume off of the new masked avenger, and guess what? Everyone gets a big surprise, duh. Now we have a doozie of a cliffhanger! Will he make it? If he does, will he finally listen to reason and train with Mark and Sophie? It's a good thing that books 2 and 3 are already out and waiting in my carousel! Reading Ambition and Mr. Dark you actually felt as if you was about of the story. Like actually live it. Hope Lauren continue with Andrea and Carter along with the other sister and brother as well as Mark, Sophie, Tab and Patrick. Not putting any of other the authors down but these two series is how a book should be written. Like you are there from start to finish.
I 💘 the different POV's! It kept it interesting, the bantering between characters was fun & easy going! The plot was great and the story full of deception, back stabbing, murder, and lots and lots of action! 👏
Book 2, Ambition, was a wonderful read. I loved that this book was told in all 4 character's POVs. It was refreshing to find another author do this. These books are cool!! The fact that a hitman can have a hart is a wonderful concept. Then for him to train an amateur vigilante to be his partner is a plus. It's breathtaking how only 4 people can clean a highly corrupt large city. It's this wholesomeness that keeps me reading.

I'm sorry that this is the last book in these two series, but what an ending! Ms. L maintained the pace right from the start, and the four main characters continued to grow the whole time. I had hardly started the first book when I had to stop and buy the next two episodes - it really is just that good! The last chapter is a real treat; she jumped twenty-three years into the future and let us see for ourselves how all of their lives worked out. It was beautifully done, and it left me smiling. Nothing is better than that!

DC/Marvel comics meets soft porn, except poorly written. I was distracted by typos and poor sentence structure. Characters seemed to be set in contemporary time, but the words, terms and phrases they used were either out dated or not from American colloquialisms. Also America does not use the metric system (we use feet, yards, miles, etc.). "Love" scenesjust seemed to be copied from popular bestsellers. Glad this book was free with my prime membership or I would be asking for a refund!
I didn't write a review of book one, sorry. These stories are not your typical billionaire sex stories. The action packed books are write up there with James Patterson, J. D. Robb and the like. I couldn't put them down. The author is fantastic in her ability to write the danger scenes so completely believable with the hi-tech weapons and gear. I think they should not be categorized as billionaire books. Action all the way.
Wow. This story is moving so fast, I'm breathless! Tabby and Patrick have been taking it slow, so far as sex is concerned; the physical side of their relationship is hot-hot-hot! So they agreed to back down and get to know one another better. (What can I say? It's certainly working for them!) Mark is attacking the political corruption as the Snowman, and the bad guys have figured out that Patrick is on the same side - and never, ever going to play their criminal games with them. They have kidnapped him and are using him as bait, thinking that they'll suck in the Snowman, and get to kill the pair of them at the same time. Dumb, huh? As this episode is ending, Mark's showering them with high caliber bullets as Sophie and Tabby watch over the scene with a "borrowed" military satellite, and in the middle of this chaos, Sophie's gone into labor - I kid you not. See why I said breathless? The third and final episode is waiting on my carousel, and sleeping is off my schedule for now. <SMILE>
