Mason and Bees story will leave you wanting more than a ride in a cab . It will have you wanting MORE. I ABSOLUTELY loved the way Bee and Mason kept me on my toes with the sassy back and forth banter, the steamy hot love scenes and the way that Mason and Bee were totally meant to be together❤..

First book by this Author that I have read and I found this book one I could not put down, I will be looking at more of her stories. Mason Caldwell an advertising executive is one of N.Y.most notorious bachelors with a reputation for his love of underground sex clubs, he is very much the Alpha Male. Bee Cowen is a woman let down by her ex-fiancé who dumped her after they came to N.Y. she has agreed to a blind date with Mason is she in for more heartbreak? Mason is looking for vengeance but will he see what is right in front of him ? I was gifted a copy for an honest review.
This is your typical good girl redeems the bad boy. The steamy stuff was ok. I didn't feel any sort of emotional connection in this book. The characters were pretty flat. Basically, the most prevalent theme was "I'm gonna BLANK your brains out and you're going to let me because I want to". Not very creative.
As much as I loved the Hunted series, I'm loving these spin-offs even more. In this one, Mason is a typical hit-it-and-quit-it manwhore who reluctantly goes on a blind date with Bee, who is a sensitive gal with a recently broken heart and the resulting lack of trust in men. Sparks fly and hearts change as they find their way to the love they each deserve.
What sets this book apart from others with a similar theme is the excellent writing - the well-developed, complex characters, the humor set against the deep soul-searching introspection, and the gripping narrative that doesn't give you a chance to think about putting the book aside for real life. Ivy Smoak is a clever and insightful author, imbuing her characters with more layers than is commonly found in contemporary romance books.
I received this book free for an honest review, however I could not get it to download so I purchased it and I am so glad I did. Bee was set up on a blind date after her friends worried she was not getting over her breakup with Patrick shortly before their wedding. Mason was in it for a night of sex and sports tickets. Playboy Mason finds himself falling in love with Bee in spite of never even seriously dating before. Bee who moved to New York with Patrick is afraid of being hurt again and has decided maybe New York is not the place for her. Through the ups and downs of this short relationship you see Bee become stronger and more secure and confident, especially when she runs into Patrick at a gala. Mason finds that he can fall in love and still reach his professional goals. If I had not had to work, this definitely would have been a "read in one sitting" book. As it was I read it in two! Well worth the time and money spent. I have read several of Ivy's books and always find them enjoyable.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Ivy Smoak is a new author to me but I’ll be buying up her other books after enjoying this one so much! Bee agrees to a blind date because her life has been awful since her fiancé broke off their engagement shortly before the wedding. It spun her out of control. Literal nose dive. So her friends fixed her up. Mason doesn’t date. Perennial playboy. And when Mason meets Bee he definitely only has one thing on his mind. But Bee is now wary of men and Mason misread this girl! No way was she going to be up for what he had in mind! Bee’s hopes and dreams were crushed in the big city, this city of sin, New York, where everyone is out for themselves. Don’t get me wrong, Bee is attracted to Mason but again, she’s gun shy around guys.
Mason usually loves the chase and then he’s over the woman. But Bee? She’s getting under his skin. It’s more about wanting to be with her long term.
The road ahead is bumpy for this couple. Will they get to an HEA?? Read this delightful book. Please note the stolen cab scene!!
I wasn't sure I'd like this one but it turns out I actually did. Bee is still getting over her breakup with Patrick the one true love of her life. They moved to NY and were going to be married until he NY changed him. Now 6 months later she's coerced into going on a blind date. After having a bad day at work she's running late and about to get a cab when its stolen out from under her.
Mason isn't thrilled about going on a blind date. He's just in it for some fun. He's friends talked him into it and when his date arrives he can't wait to get her into bed. Unfortunately, she's not so willing.
I usually can't stand the back and forth but in this one it was so enjoyable. Especially, the whole taxi cab scene. It was pretty funny. I liked how even though Bee was soft she had enough gusto to stand up for herself. I liked that a lot about her. As tough as things got she still had some sense of self preservation. I truly feel that at the end of this she didn't let NY beat her. She owned it.
